“We are very pleased with the work Bert Horne and his team did to enhance our home and yard. Bert replaced our existing semi circular brick steps descending from our sunroom with new semi circular stone steps. The original brick steps were narrow and a safety hazard. Together we designed the new steps and enhanced the exit from our sunroom onto the existing patio. Not only creating safer steps but also creating an area for my potted plants. The brick steps were a challenge to dismantle, but not to be disheartened Bert and his team worked diligently in extremely hot weather conditions to get the job done. The steps and patio are curved and that created another challenge as each stone had to be cut by hand to meet the needs of the project. In addition, one thing led to another, and again, together we designed a stone wall around the existing curved concrete patio adding pavers to extend the patio. A stone bench was built into the wall and an enclosed area for the gas grill. Another challenge was that I wanted a small pergola built on a curve with the posts extending from the center of each stone column, and it had to be hurricane proof. Once again challenge overcome, and project was completed very successfully. Bert with the aid of a friend, who built the pergola, added lighting features to the pergola, stone wall and steps to complete the project. Bert and his team did an excellent job, in difficult weather conditions, extremely hot, and sometimes very wet weather, always with a smile and great attitude.
